Is TOPdesk lite only for the support of employees?

TOPdesk lite is mainly intended for the support of your internal IT organization. You can support your employees with their problems concerning hardware and software. Many TOPdesk customers also use TOPdesk lite to support their business to business relations. The workflow within TOPdesk has been optimised for any type of support. If you are looking for a more specific tool to support your customers, then we recommend TOPdesk Professional ES or TOPdesk Enterprise.

Which software is most suitable for my organization - TOPdesk lite or TOPdesk Professional?

Ultimately, that depends on your requirements. TOPdesk lite is suitable for smaller organizations or organizations that have uncomplicated requirements. If you are someone who needs more – more options, more features – then TOPdesk Professional is the way forward. TOPdesk Professional provides you with all the basics of TOPdesk lite but also contains all the extras that a more complex organization requires.

How is the TOPdesk lite license built up?

If you decided to purchase TOPdesk lite, you can pay a one-off license fee which allows your service desk operators to use the software. The TOPdesk license is based on the number of people you support. The number of people who work with TOPdesk is unlimited, giving you flexibility while your help desk grows. The basic license for TOPdesk lite starts at 50 supported end users and can be extended with end user licenses for up to 100, 150, 200 and 250 supported end users.

How does the server-client interaction work in TOPdesk lite?

Both the TOPdesk software and the database are installed on a central server. Once all your service desk employees have installed the network client of TOPdesk lite on their local workstation they can access TOPdesk lite and the database on the central server via your network. If your service desk consists of one service desk, you can also choose to install both TOPdesk lite and the database on that one workstation.
