Det kan nok bedst beskrives som en gr\u00e6nseflade, der g\u00f8r det muligt for forskellige applikationer at interagere med hinanden. Lad mig komme med et eksempel; hvis du har en webshop, kan du ved hj\u00e6lp af API\u2019et s\u00f8rge for, at din lagerbeholdning automatisk bliver synkroniseret med det antal varer, som fremg\u00e5r p\u00e5 din webshops hjemmeside. P\u00e5 den m\u00e5de kan dine kunder ikke bestille varer, som du ikke har p\u00e5 lager.<\/p>\n<h2>3 m\u00e5der du kan anvende det \u00e5bne API<\/h2>\n<p>Et \u00e5bent API giver dig bl.a. mulighed for at automatisere flere af dine opgaver og dermed optimere arbejdet i servicedesken. Men hvordan fungerer det? Jeg giver dig her tre forskellige m\u00e5der, som du kan udnytte API\u2019et p\u00e5 i servicedesken:<\/p>\n<h3>1. Opret integrationer mellem forskellige systemer<\/h3>\n<p>Ved hj\u00e6lp af det \u00e5bne API er det lettere at udvikle nye integrationer mellem to systemer, da alle oplysningerne bliver samlet \u00e9t sted, f.eks. i ITSM-systemet. Dette betyder, at udviklerne nemt kan tilg\u00e5 alle de informationer, de har brug for. Dertil f\u00e5r de ogs\u00e5 bedre mulighed for at tilpasse applikationerne efter virksomhedens behov.<\/p>\n<h3>2. Automatiser manuelle handlinger<\/h3>\n<p>Et \u00e5bent API kan ogs\u00e5 hj\u00e6lpe dig med at automatisere nogle af dine manuelle handlinger. M\u00e5ske bruger dine operat\u00f8rer en del tid p\u00e5 at lave status\u00e6ndringer eller linke assets til sagerne. Dette er noget, som nemt kan automatiseres &#8211; og dermed f\u00e5r dine medarbejdere mere tid til at fokusere p\u00e5 andre vigtige opgaver.<\/p>\n<h3>3. Hold styr p\u00e5 dine assets<\/h3>\n<p>Gennem det \u00e5bne API har du mulighed for at lave en integration til et eksternt v\u00e6rkt\u00f8j, der kan monitorere dine assets. P\u00e5 en m\u00e5de bliver dine assets automatisk opdateret med realtidsdata.<\/p>\n<p>Mulighederne er derfor mange, n\u00e5r det kommer til at udnytte det \u00e5bne API til fulde, men grundl\u00e6ggende kan API\u2019et ses som en yderst vigtig feature i dit ITSM-system i forbindelse med effektivisering af processerne.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tip!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hvis du \u00f8nsker at komme i gang med at anvende API\u2019et, er det en god id\u00e9 f\u00f8rst at lave en konkret plan over, hvad det er for nogle opgaver, som du \u00f8nsker, det skal hj\u00e6lp dig med at l\u00f8se. Dertil skal du huske, at arbejdet med API\u2019et skal foreg\u00e5 p\u00e5 en sikker m\u00e5de, da du evt. kan arbejde med f\u00f8lsomme personoplysninger. Husk altid at benytte dig af en krypteringsn\u00f8gle til udveksling af data. P\u00e5 den m\u00e5de er det kun de medarbejdere, som har adgang til denne n\u00f8gle, der kan se disse data undervejs i processen.<\/p>\n<h2>Gevinsterne ved at udnytte API\u2019et?<\/h2>\n<p>Med et \u00e5bent API f\u00e5r du en \u00f8get fleksibilitet, hvilket betyder, at du hele tiden kan tilpasse og udvide dine muligheder. En anden (potentiel) gevinst er en kost- og tidsbesparelse for din virksomhed. Systemintegrationer kan nemlig v\u00e6re dyre og tidskr\u00e6vende, men et \u00e5bent API kan v\u00e6re med til at lette begge disse poster.
